I have been talking to SAP Japan since 2019 July. Interviewed for a role of SSA in their Tokyo office. Went through 4 rounds of interview with HR, Local Business Head, 2 rounds with GM of APAC which included a presentation of how I would be running the IBSO business. I was told that they found me suitable for the Role and would be giving me an offer. Asked for my current salary details and expectations. After submitting the details, there was no answer from their Recruiter. After lot of follow-up they told that they cannot match my expectation and would be able to do so in 2020 Q1. After lot of follow-up from my side, went through 2 rounds of interview on April 2020. Again no response after that. Took a lot of follow-up to get a response that there was a head-count freeze and cannot make an offer. They contacted me in Mar 2021 for different role of Service Partner for which I interviewed. During the course of interview , hiring manager (VP) told me that I would be more suitable for SSA role. Recruiter contacted me to interview for SSA role. I told him that I have already given interview for this role at least 5 times and its high time that they make an offer. His explanation was that there are some changes in their org structure so its necessary to talk to new person in-charge. When I requested a call with recruiter to discuss this, he came into the call and told that the position has been filled. Over a span of 1.5 years, it was the most unprofessional interview experience. I am surprised by the apathy shown by their Recruitment team . It amazes me that a senior executive in GM role makes a commitment to make an offer and later does not bother about it. It has been very stressful and frustrating to deal with this. I have decided to blacklist SAP and never interview with them in future.
Exercise caution while interviewing with SAP.
