I applied to Groupon for the Account Executive position in early April. I was contacted at the end of the month, and immediately we conducted a phone interview. The questions were very standard (running down my resume, what I know about Groupon, etc.). The phone call was very laid back and it made it very easy and comforting. Following the phone call, I was told that I meet the requirements and that I sound enthusiastic about the job, and I was eventually invited for an in person interview the next week.
Once at the Groupon building, we took a tour around a few floors so I could get a better idea of what the job environment was like. From there, I sat down with the Corporate Recruiter that I had spoken to on the phone. We did a quick run through on my resume once again, and it was a pretty casual interview. Following this, I met with two other Groupon managers. The last thing they ask you to complete is a writing sample which is very simple. They are looking to see how you write and handle yourself, less so of what your answer is exactly.
