      Entretien

I submitted my resume and application via their online job board. A recruiter called me within a week of my submission and conducted an initial phone interview where she asked "Tell me about yourself" type questions (i.e. What kind of activities are you into? What was the last book you read?). After about 10 minutes, she (the recruiter) asked me to come in to their office for an interview. Due to conflicting schedules, my interview got pushed back to a little over a week after the initial phone call. Upon arriving at the office, the receptionist asked me for my name and told me to just wait for my recruiter. I expected to get asked to draw a self-portrait as a way of signing in (as was other people's experiences), but at least in my experience, it wasn't even mentioned. (However, while I was waiting, I did notice several notebooks full of doodles from past interviewees). The recruiter came and fetched me, and led me into a small lounge room. She started by giving me a more detailed job description of the position I was applying for. She then proceeded with the interview, first asking me to walk her through my resume. She then had me shadow a current employee, who gave me a quick rundown of the programs they used and the layouts. The shadowing session only lasted for about 10 minutes, at which point the recruiter brought me back to the tiny lounge room and was told that the head of (my) department will be in to meet with me shortly. The dept head asked a few questions about my work history (i.e. What was my favorite job? Why?). He then asked me if I had any questions for him, and I basically asked him troubleshoot type questions. The last person to interview me was perhaps an HR manager. Her questions did not pertain much to the position or my work history, but more regarding me as a person. It was like chatting with a friend over coffee. She asked me to describe myself, how I think others view me, what qualities I look for in a friend, etc.. The interview overall was roughly about 90 min. At the end of it, the recruiter asked me for a hard copy of three professional references, which I actually didn't have on me and just sent it via email when I got home that night. Being on very good terms with my references, they (my references) actually notified me that they were contacted via email the following morning. Though I was told initially by the recruiter to expect a call back within a few days, I actually got a call with the offer the very next day.
