I was very excited at the opportunity to start the interview process with AWS. I set up an initial interview with a recruiter. The recruiter was 25 minutes late to the call, rather than just apologizing she went on to tell me that she was in another interview that went long... Note: while I am sympathetic, being late is not my problem. I was ready at the scheduled time. The recruiter should have just apologized rather than make excuses. At the end of the day I was amendable and flexible to working around the recruiters tardiness because of my excitement around the opportunity.... The initial call went really well, and the recruiter said that she would like to progress me forward. Then I was ghosted, no follow up & no response to my 2 follow up emails and 2 calls. I have to say Amazon was top of my list of potential employers. However, after that experience I question how employee centric Amazon really is. Needless to say (but I will anyway) it was a very disappointing first impression of a company I admire. I am sure others have had great experiences, unfortunately for me this was not a good experience and I thought I would share.

It took several weeks for the first phone interview to get scheduled. The person conducting the interview was in Central America and was not going to be part of the team and was asked to do the interview. Very little feedback or communication throughout the process.
