Had a great first round interview. The recruiter forgot to schedule a second round, then scheduled it two weeks later, and cancelled the interview an hour before to let me know I wouldn’t be moving forward.

Phone screen, in-person, 2 written tests.
I wrote multiple writing samples and interviewed in person for the role, and did not receive any notice that the team had hired another candidate until I emailed HR a few weeks after my in-person interview. This lack of notice might seem like usual practice, but please note that HR had previously been in very consistent and quick communication with me. In fact, the recruiter I was connected with had previously and explicitly requested very immediate responses from me in scheduling the phone screen and in-person interview. After spending hours of my time completing the written assessments and going into the office to meet the team, the least the recruiters could have done was to inform me of my candidate status. Additionally, the interviewers were very disengaged, and looked at their phones while we were talking. Overall, a very inconsiderate recruiting experience.
