      I initially applied online for a position as a Manager-In-Training. The very next day, I was contacted for a first interview by a recruiter, and asked when/what time would work best to speak. We agreed about one week later. The week passed, and we the time had come for our first interview. I felt I was very well received. Questions weren't too difficult, and everything was really well processed. We talked a lot about the situations, and how we would overcome them. As well, as Operations, job descriptions, dress codes, and compensation. I was given a pt. 2 to my first interview - A C.E.R. A C.E.R. (or customer experience report) - A "Secret Shop" task that was to be done by an MIT, or SM candidate with their manager cap on. (They also have these available for customers). We went into the shop, and asked a bunch of questions to the associates, as well as the cleanliness, and other aspects of how we should see the Day-to-day operations of a shop. Once finished, we filled out the questionnaire, and sent it back to the recruiter. Interview 2 was a bit different. We discussed more S.T.A.R. situations, and we also went over the entire C.E.R. This is where it started to turn downhill. The recruiter informed me that I would definitely be set up for a "Culture Hour". (A one hour in store based interview that is based on coaching scenarios, and operational observations) The recruiter asked me dates that would work best for me, and after giving them to her, I was told to follow-up in the following week should I not hear from her. The next week, I sent in an e-mail following up on how the decision making process was going, and in return - a few hours later, I got a beautifully generic "Thanks for applying at LUSH!" I was a bit dumbfounded, as I was meant to have a third interview. I replied to the E-mail asking for some feedback about how the interview went, and if we could follow through with another career opportunity in another store. While my feedback question was brushed off, as if I didn't ask it - I was interviewed, and offered a position at another shop. I would say I was rather disappointed in the way the events turned in this one. I live the lush life on a daily basis, and I feel like this was not the way things are usually done.

      When I applied to become an MIT back in 2018, the process was rigorous. I wrote a ten page paper on everything I knew about LUSH - from how to manage and train employees to operations, COGs, Labor, KPIs and hiring. If you have worked for LUSH for several years as a Floor Leader, connect with your manager or MIT to review areas of strength and more importantly, areas of weakness so you can grow before interviewing. The process may be totally different now, but when I was interviewing, an RST visited our shop to have a meeting among our staff without me and contributed comments as to whether I was fit to become MIT. If you are in good standing as a FL, you have a good shot!

      - Chat with shop manager, and regional manager about career opportunities, and design a development plan to further skills in previous position (Floor Leader/supervisor) - Self-assessment about current skill set, behaviours, and competed in-store projects (team development, driving sales, etc.), and reflection of internal leadership practices - Self-assessment is submitted to hiring and recruitment team, alongside cover letter and resume - Interview will occur in person if hiring manager and regional manager are in the same area as you. If not, interview is done over the phone - Call-backs are done within 5 business days; opportunities to garner feedback about interview and current skill set if the job isn’t offered
