I had to complete online tests, video interview and lastly an assessment centre.
I have been to a few assessment centres for big companies now and this was without a doubt the worst one. The assessors were either people who progressed in J&J before the finance leadership development programme existed or people who had completed the programme. The assessors who didn't progress through the scheme were really friendly and nice people but the assessors who completed this two year programme were not the kind of people I would want to work with. They seemed very unprofessional when dealing with the graduates, as if they were above us socially. For example, the group exercise had eight of us in a room with 8 - 10 assessors and after we finished one of the assessors asked a question just to tease one of the graduates and was smirking all the way through his answer. Then another assessor thought it would be fun to mention another graduates answer during the group excessive while all of the candidates were in the room !!! This is just one of the times that the finance leaders, who'd completed the FLDP programme, acted unprofessional. Hence I do not recommend J&J and they do not live their credo.
However, the other assessors and the HR staff were very friendly and professional. Just a shame that the assessors who did the FLDP scheme I was applying for had such a negative and condescending personality. On a positive note the assessment centre was very well timed and coordinated.
I wouldn't normally write a review for an assessment centre but I felt the need to after having such a negative experience.
