      Entretien

HR contacted me through phone to arrange my first round interview. Got two rounds for two different functions and seemed that the interviewers were using typical interview questions about the resume and general experiences. First round of interview was positive and the interviewers introduced me in-depth details and the uniqueness of the medical industry in HK. It was more like a conversation instead of a formal interview which lasted an hour. HR called me again after a week or two for the second round, which was supposed to be an interview with the general manager/district manager/someone at equivalent level for the same function for final screening (as claimed by the HR during the call). However, I only got to understand that the second round was an interview for an entirely different role, with two other team leaders when the interview began. In general, the 2nd round of interview was rather uncoordinated. The two interviewers were from two separate teams and seemed that they did not compromise what kind of questions to ask. It was obvious that they were also unsure what kind of candidates they would like to hire as questions were ambiguous, and it seemed that the two interviewers were not in a good personal relation with each other. Only generic questions were asked. I had to ask for clarifications multiple times while trying my best to make the conversation going in a less awkward way. At the end, I got no reply for the first role (the original role I was applying for back then) and of course, I was not expecting anything for the second role. I emailed the HR for follow-ups. Only after a month, they got back to me with a boring generic rejection letter. For certain, it was not a good experience starting from the second half of the whole process. It could have been a better experience if the HR/the responsible staff coordinate and communicate in a more efficient way and gave the candidate accurate information instead of wasting each other's time; and surprisingly, it was also the first time I got relieved rather than disappointed or shocked when I received a rejection letter from J&J.
