J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Glassdoor

      Entretien

I was contacted by a recruiter at Glassdoor regarding a role in the marketing department. I wasn't considering any new roles, but was intrigued and scheduled a preliminary call with the recruiter. I never received a confirmation from the recruiter, but assumed they would stick to the calendar invite. One minute before our scheduled time, the recruiter emailed me to say they couldn't make it, giving a vague excuse. Not a great first impression. I know schedules can change, but I would expect a courtesy of more than 60 seconds before backing out. After a fair bit of back and forth, we had our preliminary call. I found it strange I was not asked *any* questions on this call. While I appreciate the information shared, it also showed a lack of interest in my experience or what I could bring to the table. I had some clarifying questions, and the recruiter said they would follow up shortly via email with a response. I followed up that day to thank them for their time — no response. Waited a few days for an update on my questions, no response. Followed up. No response. Followed up again, and finally got a response: two sentences. Yikes. Despite this frustrating experience, I was still interested in the role and told the recruiter I would like to pursue the next step. They responded with what the next step would be (another call), but did not offer to actually schedule anything. I responded to reiterate my interest and offered some information on my availability, and have not heard back since. For a company with a focus on hiring and recruiting, it has been an astonishingly poor experience, especially as Glassdoor reached out to me regarding this role. It certainly leaves something to be desired. I understand many hiring teams are swamped, but the lack of communication does not put Glassdoor in a good light. Even if they chose not to move forward with me, or the scope or timeline changed, that's all fine... just communicate that instead of leaving candidates *you* reach out to in the dark. It's a shame, because I was genuinely interested by the role. At this point, though, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth that I'm now turned off at the idea of pursuing it further. I hope the hiring team will improve its communication with future candidates.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I can only imagine how frustrating that would have been for you and I apologize that this has been your experience. At Glassdoor we strive to provide a positive candidate experience, regardless of the outcome and it is clear that this time we fell short. I will ensure this feedback is shared across the team. Many thanks, Amy Farrar, Head of Talent Acquisition
