      Entretien

I applied for the role back in May 2018 and did not hear from EY HR until July 2018. Summary Stages: -Initial HR screen -1-on-1 Interview with a Senior Manager -Case Study Interview with a Senior Manager and Manager -Partner Interview Initial HR conversation was great and gave me a good understanding for the teams dynamics, what the customer advisory team structure is like and gave me an overview of the type of consulting work they conduct. At this point, HR escalated my profile to the team to see if they would be interested upon which I was invited to a 1-on-1 interview with a Senior Manager late July 2018. 1-on-1 with Senior Manager (1 hr) - covered my professional experience, asked what I was looking for, what I believed the role would offer and what I could provide/transfer from my experience in a non-consulting environment. It was a relaxed environment and conversation flowed well. Overall, this interview was great. I was then invited by HR to attend a 'Recruitment Event', 3 weeks after my 1-on-1 interview. This Recruitment Event was comprised of a Case Study Interview with a Senior Manager and Manager, and Partner Interview. -Case Study Interview (1 hr) - This type of interview is usually time sensitive. Both Senior Manager and Manager were late to the interview. They gave me 30 minutes to review a Case Study, answer set questions and the remaining time was spent justifying my answers and answering any other questions they had. As my remaining time was cut short due to the interview starting late, I felt I was rushed in my responses, we skipped questions and was told numerous times by the Managers that they were "conscious of time and being over" that we ultimately had to rush/end the interview and I had to go straight to the next interview with the Partner. Overall, the Managers were nice and easy to speak too. Partner Interview (1 hr) - It was a general conversation with the Partner who provided me more insight into the team dynamics and size, what they are currently working on and I had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions. Overall, the Partner was approachable, easy to talk to and genuine about knowing a bit more about me. 2 weeks later, I received the result that I had not received an offer, although it was apparently "a very close call". Pro: -Always good to get experience interviewing at a Top Tier firm -People I met were nice and welcoming Con: -Throughout the whole process I needed to follow up with them continuously to know the status as I felt there was unnecessary delays (this was acknowledged by them as well) -Whole process took too long and disorganised. Suggestion: -Improve recruitment process - unnecessary delays and drawn out processes will just deter great candidates for wanting to work at EY. -Don't tell people to "refer to Glassdoor" for reviews on EY if majority of ex or current employees are providing negative feedback.
