Contacted by a recruiter, gave the 5 online tests: verbal, numerical, Java, Personality and English.
After the tests I was invited for the interviews. I was scheduled to meet 5 people. I met two Senior Managers, the Associate Director, psychologist and the HR. All of them were cordial. The Managers and the Director ask similar questions so I ended up repeating the same script over and over. The interview with the Director was a bit on the difficult side, he asked important technical questions and even to draw a schematic of a flight booking transaction. He also asked questions about Amadeus, how it makes money, challenges that it faces etc.
It should be noted that I was supposed to interview for the post of Java developer but the team that interviewed me were looking for C++ developers. I was finally rejected for this team.
The HR then proposed me to interview for another team that needed Java Developer. They scheduled a day again for me (after a month) but this time I was interviewed by only 1 senior Manager and the Director. The senior manager was yawning during the whole interview and seemed disinterested in what I had to say. Later, I interviewed with the Director who gave me a riddle to solve. This interview was very interesting, gave me insights about my thought process as well.
Again, important to note that this team was looking for Angular JS developers. They also rejected me citing my lack of synthesis in communication as the reason for rejection. I believe its a silly reason because communication is tested during the online verbal reasoning test on which I had got an above average percentile.
The process is long and exhausting. The HRs do not communicate actively. They are slow but warm like HRs everywhere. I made two trips to Sophia and its a shame that it took Amadeus 5 online tests and 7 face to face interviews to realize I had poor communication skills. I would have appreciated honesty even in rejection.
