Innovation Sprint is a technology startup in the Clinical and Healthcare industry that offers edge technological solutions and services. Our team combines ICT, medical and data analytics expertise to improve health and pharmaceutical products and services, and to develop personalised healthcare solutions. The company has headquarters in Brussels (BE) and R&D offices in Athens (GR) and Enschede (NL). We are currently recruiting for our Athens Labs.

We are looking for a talented Backend Software Engineer to join our Engineering team in Athens and work on our backend services. The successful candidate will be part of a very competent software team and they will be able to contribute in all phases of the development process, building robust web-based user interfaces for our core product.

What you’ll do

• Contribute in the development of new or the maintenance of existing software systems
• Work as a part of a development team following scrum methodologies
• Maintain a high level of quality in testing and release of deployed code
• Maintain a high level of rigor in source control
• Maintain a high level of quality by effectively documenting work
• Stay up-to-date with advances in the technical area of expertise
• Enforce standards and best practices
• Be Involved in research projects

Qualifications & Skills

• MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Maths
• Experience as Backend Developer: Knowledge of C#/.Net Core (alternatively Java/Spring or any other relevant language/framework combination)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of databases (SQL / noSQL) and ORM (Entity Framework, Hibernate, etc.)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Problem solving and innovative thinking
• Teamwork & Collaboration
• Basic project management skills to track project work and manage/review work of team
• Achievement & results orientation

Desired qualifications

• Experience using version control systems
• Knowledge of client-server and Internet systems architectures
• Knowledge of DevOps and containerized services
• Knowledge of Bash
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
