Who are we?
The Performance Steering (PS) team sits within Allianz Benelux’s Finance Department, and is responsible for analysing interpreting the various KPIs needed to steer Allianz’s business lines in the Benelux region. As such, we are a key business partner for all users of these figures, engaging with stakeholders including regional Board members such as CEO and CFO, likewise with the Chief Investment Officer, Chief Product Officer, Chief Risk Officer and our Group headquarters in Munich. This role sits within the PC Performance Steering team, which together with similar teams for Life, Cost, and Consolidation comprises the broader PS team.
Your responsibilities:
Transversal planning and performance steering of Allianz Benelux's PC KPIs, by managing key metrics of the IFRS 17 PL
Proactively monitor portfolio performance, initiating ad-hoc analyses and deep-dives on deviations vs. plan, and collaborating with business owners to drive remediation and optimization actions
Comfortable switching between multiple accounting regimes (IFRS 17, Solvency II, local GAAP) and translating the key concepts to provide business-relevant insights
Drive the annual planning and strategic dialog, challenging assumptions and ensuring alignment with business counterparts and the Allianz BeNeLux strategy
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dynamic self-starting individual who will monitor/steer the financials of the PC business, proactively initiating ad-hoc analyses deep-dives on any areas of the portfolio exhibiting deviations vs plan. With the results of such analyses, you will take contact with the relevant business owners in order to ensure the appropriate remediation/optimization actions are taken. Another key responsibility will be producing the PC section of the “Planning Dialogue”, the annual exercise undertaken with the business and the Group shareholder in order to construct the financial plan.
You will be responsible for providing financial insights to support various business areas in monitoring profitability and assessing the impact of commercial actions. To achieve this, you should be able to oversee and explain the movements within the entire IFRS 9/17 profit framework, identifying key factors that drive the Insurance Result, the Investment Result, and other components of the Income Statement and PC KPIs. You must be also comfortable articulating explaining the differences in balance sheet and PL between the various applicable accounting norms (IFRS17, Solvency II, local GAAP). In addition to strong technical skills, also experience in working with PowerBI dashboards and performing data analytics is important.
Excellent communication skills are a must-have, as you will need to build maintain strong relationships with colleagues from outside of Finance. You will have the opportunity to present financial results and the outcome of analysis to a senior audience.
Your profile:
Have a Master’s degree in actuarial, finance, econometrics/statistics or in another relevant field.
4+-year experience in Controlling / Actuarial / Risk.
Experience with IFRS 9/17 PL and Balance Sheet steering and analysis.
Communicate fluently in English, and preferably also in French and/or Dutch.
Have the intrinsic drive and skills to work with a very talented team of individuals in an international environment.
