WORST INTERVIEW EVER. DISRESPECTFUL, FRUSTRATING AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
I had the most frustrating, disrespectful and unprofessional job interview with this company. Here is the details:
I was approached by dunnhumby for a Research Data Scientist role. From the start, communication was minimal—no intro call or role explanation, just an interview invite. The first interview was meant to be an hour but was only 30 minutes, with the hiring manager mentioning he was new and the role was still being defined.
Afterwards, I waited three weeks with no update. I chased HR and was told I progressed. I selected a slot for the next interview, but then… nothing. As the date approached, I had to figure out the hiring manager’s contact myself to confirm the interview, which should never happen in a decent company.
The in-person interview itself was professional. I sent a thank-you email to hiring manager and received a clear timeline for an update, but the deadline passed with no news. I followed up to hiring manager, received a new timeline. On the date where hiring manager committed to give me an update, I asked again whether I can receive an update, no communication at all and apparently the deadline passed again. No communication at all until I chased again a week later (Chased 3 times already)—then next day I got a short rejection email from HR (who initially ignored my email 3 times and no any communication afterward) with no explanation, no feedback, and no apology. No even saying good luck for your future role seeking. For that rejection email, the HR sent by mobile with format and grammar mistake, which is extremely unprofessional. I even still politely ask is there any feedback can share with me. No response at all. Extremely frustrating and disrespectful!!!
HR also falsely claimed they called me, which never happened. My phone was always on, and no missed calls or voicemails. Standard practice is to email if no answer—this didn’t happen either.
Overall, the process felt transactional and unprofessional, with no respect for my time at all. I left with a very negative impression of dunnhumby and its approach to hiring. I strongly against any future candidate who want to apply for this company, unless you want to be treated like that.
