The process started off positive. The HR representative received my application and 4 hours later we had set up a phone interview for the following week. The phone interview lasted 15 minutes and seemed very rushed. When I asked the HR representative for more information about this new position for the company, he made the position sound terrible. He told me that the reason this team was created was because the sales team did not need to spend their time on small accounts (they work on commission). This new team was going to support the sales team by handling the small accounts while the sales team spent their time on bigger accounts. He gave me the impression that this new team would be the "clean-up crew" for the sales team and did not make it sound desirable at all. At the end of the interview, I asked the HR representative why he loved working for Zendesk and instead of talking about their great culture or the people he worked with, he told me that he liked that the company had a start-up feel (in that there were a lot of gray areas and problems to solve), but was financially stable. The HR representative said that he would let me know about next steps in the process by the end of the week, but I have still not heard from him almost 3 weeks later.
