There were three stages in the interview process: first, a phone screening with a recruiter; second, a meeting with the Hiring Manager; and third, a panel interview with two other managers.
This was by far the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. The phone screening with the recruiter lasted only 10 minutes. She arrived 10 minutes late, stating that she was caught up in another interview, and I didn't receive any email notification about the delay. During the call, she asked basic questions about my experience, my current role, and my expectations, but she didn't have any information about the position itself. She seemed distracted, possibly because there was a dog barking in the background. The recruiter was based in Atlanta.

"Simple and quick process overall. Applied online, and an HR screener followed up the same week. She was great, very thorough, and provided all the details on the position, salary, next steps, and a helpful guide for the upcoming interview rounds.
However, the Sales Manager interview was a complete 180 in professionalism. He was clearly unprepared, had likely glanced at my resume minutes before, and asked only basic questions, and was like to the interview. When I asked specifically about Workday products and Workday Sana, he couldn't speak to them, defaulting to AI buzzwords and internal product SKU jargon: And he's a sales manager? Not impressed, especially learning he wasn't even the hiring team's manager.
Overall, your experience will heavily depend on who's interviewing you and how knowledgeable they actually are about Workday. Worth noting that following Q4 layoffs in January 2026, they're actively hiring in sales despite declining stock value and rumors of a potential buyout via Reddit.
Thank you for your feedback. We take reviews seriously and hope you consider Workday for future opportunities. We'd also welcome a follow-up with you if you're interested - please just email Interview@workday.com

Had an initial phone interview with recruiter going over brief questions she took her time and answered any questions I had and set expectations on what I can expect for the process, second interview with an on-site manager - very behavioral, third round of interview with two separate managers, one for inbound team and second for outbound team - one felt more conversational than the other. one of the managers was someone id be working with directly, other was from a different site that managed my manager?
