    Avantages

    - Geweldig om te werken voor echte ERP

    - Winnend bedrijf van het SW enterprise erfgoed

    - Start-up met intelligentie, ambitie en lange termijn visie

    - Geweldig leiderschap, betere werkgevers.

    Avantages

-Good local Office Culture. Everyone is friendly and willing to help out.
-Product itself is incredible which makes demoing it really fun and "easy".

    Inconvénients

-They take advantage of being the "best place to work" by grossly under paying employees. on avg. 20-30K less than competitors.
-Promotions are extremely limited and difficult to attain.
-With recent leadership changes in the sales/presales organization there is less emphasis on the employees and a lot more on the bottom line. There have been cut backs and many employees internally are not pleased.
-Choose Workday if making money is NOT your priority.

    Conseils à la direction

At the end of the day if you do not pay your top performers or give them the promotions they deserve they will leave no matter how great Workday is. Expect a higher turnover rate over next year or so.

    Avantages

Co-workers are smart, dedicated, and very, very supportive. Strong sense of mission and future. Great founders - easy to rally behind. Solid pay, good benefits.

    Inconvénients

Not the place to go if you want to advance your career. I love the work, but Workday has been the worst career choice in my life. No way to get ahead. Look elsewhere if you want to grow. If you want to do the same job under frequently changing managers and empty promises, join the team.

    Conseils à la direction

I know you are trying hard to keep the culture strong, but without real opportunity it doesn't matter.

    Avantages

    Good people to work with.
    Flexible hours.
    Quite a few perks/events.

    Inconvénients

    Management is slowly getting worse.
"Employee first" is no longer true for every team.
    Management.
    Management.
    Management.
Only good when landing on the right team.

    Conseils à la direction

Management needs to care more about individual growth for the employee. That's the only way talent is not lost.
Some teams are being treated completely differently than others because of managers...

Je travaille chez Workday à plein temps

    Avantages

The core HCM products have been built by the visionaries of that time and stay competitive decade later.

As stock prices goes up so does the compensation.

Office is mostly empty by 6 pm, no over time.

    Inconvénients

Internally it's filled with politics. Mediocre goals, restricted feedback, closed door decisions and backstabbing, policing HR. And, yes, everything becomes slo-o-o-w. Proposed changes are more often viewed from the political angle (we need to be nice, don't argue with other teams ... I'm not sure who can approve it, let me find out and get back to you ... we don't know who owns this component, let's not touch it for now ... I know it's broken now, but what if your "fix" causes more problems ... let's wait what upper management says ... ) and everything is becoming painfully slow. To avoid risks teams spend more and more time and money working on the "safe" but useless projects while avoiding tackling real problems - "what is we make it worse?"

The product is showing its age. With the large customer base in place making major changes is too expensive and the technical debt keeps building up. If you are a developer, a lot of technologies being used are non transferable outside of Workday.

Promotions are possible, but they are based mostly on personal loyalty to the higher ups (without goals and metrics, what else can be used?) Some are well deserved while others raise eyebrows.

    Conseils à la direction

We need some real challenge. Not the kind of company goals when we all know we are virtually guaranteed to get a bonus for but something pushing the limits. Let's make it transparent so people can see who the real heroes are. Instead of small guaranteed bonus for a minor improvement, let's set a big pay off but stay firm on the rules. Workday used to be an underdog fighting a bigger competitors and by now it feels like we've won and we can relax and enjoy the victory. A sense of fair competition will get Workday in a better shape.

    Avantages

    - Unlimited PTO policy. Easy for engineers to take at least 5-6 weeks off a year.
    - Dog friendly office.
    - Easy to coast by and collect paychecks.
    - Close to Pleasanton BART.
    - Most teams allow engineers to work from home once a week.

Workday is a great place to work if you live in the East Bay and value work/life balance highly. Perfect for people with families that want an easy workload and lots of PTO. Never felt stressed to deliver on a deadline. Easy to get stuck here since you barely feel like it's work.

    Inconvénients

    - Abysmally low pay / salary compared to other tech companies in the Bay.
    - Lack of motivated engineers due to low pay.
    - Proprietary coding language not transferrable to other companies.
    - Promotion is mostly based on tenure, not accomplishment/talent.
    - Located in Pleasanton.
    - Snacks/drinks are of the cheapest quality, and often run out.

If you're an engineer that aspires to leave Workday eventually, avoid at all costs. Working in a proprietary language 9-5 will severely diminish coding skills that other companies actually care about. Nowadays there's a serious lack of drive when comparing engineers at Workday to other companies. Great engineers have been leaving in droves since last year. Good luck escaping when you've been pigeonholed into your role.

    Conseils à la direction

If you want to retain top (or even mediocre) talent, start paying employees more. Adopt newer technologies for development/testing/QA. Move away from proprietary coding languages.
