Interview process started with a 45min call with a recruiter, she was very nice and explained the full process to me which would include a phone call, a video interview and then an in person interview. The phone call was fine, just talking about general background and the position. The video interview was a case study about returns with a basic math problem, the interviewer was very nice. Next I moved onto the in-person interview, a little over four hours. I met with potential coworkers and a few people who I would never work with that were just stand-ins. I thought overall everything went well, this is where my experience turned completely. I have at this point invested over 7 hours of my time applying for this job, I never got a single email or response from wayfair ever again. I tried reaching out once a week for a few weeks and never got a single reply...very odd, very unprofessional. Overall: Be prepared for a long interview process with the same questions about your background and A/B testing questions they have been using for years and you can find on glassdoor. In the end you might not even get an explanation or a simple email back saying you were selected or not.

Very professional and efficient process. The recruitment team kept me informed at every stage, and I was very pleased with the overall interview experience. The only downside was the lack of clear feedback after reaching the final stage and not receiving an offer. The feedback provided wasn’t specific enough for me to learn from or address, and although I asked for clarification, I wasn’t given the opportunity to discuss it further with the relevant person. I understand that it may not be feasible to provide detailed feedback to every candidate. However, having reached the final round after multiple stages, I believe it would be reasonable and fair for the hiring manager to offer a brief call to provide more personalized and actionable feedback.

It was a 2-day interview process to meet with the full team and hiring manager, meeting with roughly 4-5 people. I appreciated the transparency of the team on culture, pace, workload, and personalities.

I have to say this was one of the most chaotic interview experiences I’ve encountered. I was initially approached by a hiring manager for a role relevant to my background, and after a good conversation, I was introduced to the recruiter. The outlined process was Recruiter > Hiring Manager > Case Study > Onsite. While my talk with the hiring manager went well, things quickly fell apart during the case study phase. The recruiter provided tips beforehand on what to expect for the case, explaining it would involve a conversational approach, followed by identifying missing metrics and problem-solving. However, the case was nothing like this. The first part was a rapid-fire "yes'/no" kinda quiz, and in the second part, I was handed a complex set of metrics and asked to solve a problem without clear guidance. When I inquired about missing metrics, the interviewer dismissed my question saying all metrics are there, making it an entirely unexpected and confusing experience. I followed up with the recruiter for feedback but received no response. Then, three months later, the same recruiter reached out again, saying because of my past strong performance in the interviews they wanted to reach back out. I should have said no, but I thought hey I already sunk time on this might as well go again. I was given vague feedback ("You considered too many options"), which felt more critical than constructive, as most PM roles value a comprehensive view of options. The recruiter mentioned that the previous role had been filled internally. So then process repeated—but this time, the recruiter left Wayfair mid-process, adding to the overall disarray. This time I thought I did the case well, but once again after no response I reach out and I got hey we aren't moving on. My overall belief is that in order to get internal people to fill roles they interview external people without really considering them. There was several red flags through out, that I repeatedly ignored because I thought hey might as well get some practice. No feedback, wrong preparation, recruiter leaving, blind reviews saying do not come under any circumstance. But overall I couldn't recommend this company just by how unorganized this process is. If you don't have a job and you need something go ahead, but if you already are in a good job, or you think you can use this to leverage betters offers, I say your wasting your time.
