I had a wonderful interview process at Wayfair. Before the interview, i read all the reviews below and was expecting the worse. However, it was quite amazing, probably the best interview experience I've ever had! First, i had a Skype interview with a Data Scientist who asked about my experience and gave me a simple business case. Then i got a response back within a week from Wayfair. I flew to Boston for an on-site interview. I had a three hour interview with three professionals on the Data Science team: two data scientists and one data engineer. The first two interviews with the scientists involved a business case that the professionals were currently working on and i was asked my thoughts on how i would approach the case: models i would use, metrics i would use, etc. They use whiteboards, which i love! The cases weren't too difficult and very engaging. The last interview with the Data Engineer involved working through a Python challenge The following week after the onsite interview, i received a phone call with an offer. Between receiving and accepting the offer, i received personal emails from a VP and the CEO about what the company is doing and encouraged me to consider joining their Data Science. I replied to the email thinking they were just sending something generic but they replied back with feedback, that really impressed me. I was planning to accept but that was an added bonus. I don't know about the interview experience at Wayfair before mine, but they either improved the experience significantly or something went wrong with the others who reviewed before me.
