Firstly, I had to complete the two tests on the Waitrose website after applying. This was fairly straightforward, and used common sense based around taking personal responsibility rather than immediately seeking advice from a higher level employee e.g. manager. I then got invited to an interview, which despite being described as a 'group assessment' turned out to be a 1:1 due to numbers. This was not really an issue though, as I definitely prefer this situation.
The interview was relatively tame, firstly they asked about yourself. After the first few seconds of stuttering while you instantaneously forget everything about your being, you start to riff off hobbies, interests, etc, and they'll probably dig a little deeper into a couple just to see how enthusiastic you are about them, when you practice them, etc. Then came the 'technical questions', which took the form of 'When have you demonstrated adaptability / ability to communicate / ability to teach skills'.
They then asked one about how you would make the customer feel comfortable, and how your traits would help this. For example 'I am polite so would make be able to keep the customer feeling at home and relaxed' or 'I'm organised so would be able to make finding products easier'. All in all it was quite a good experience, and the person interviewing me seemed nice enough, and wasn't imposing or condescending at all.

I applied for a Supermarket Assistant vacancy for all SW London stores (If your applying for a London specific vacancy, please ensure you apply ASAP, they only keep the vacancies for London open for 24 hours max), an early application, is always the best application) I am very happy that I have been given an offer! This was honestly one of the best interview/application processes I've been through, everything went smoothly, and on a timely manner. I applied for the role a week ago, and the next day received an email to say I have been invited for an Interview. You then schedule yourself in for an Interview. Literally 2 days after the Interview, I was called and told I have passed the Interview, and they would offer me a vacancy. My best advice would be to research Waitrose' core values and behaviours, and also research company trends. I have put the questions below. Towards the end of the interview, they'll confirm your right to work, your availability, and your preferred locations.

Good process, nice People and not too difficult. Able to pass interviews as many times as needed.
The same as other supermarket jobs, not much more to say to be honest
