I received an email from and had a call with the recruiter within a few hours of submitting my application. Following the initial call I had an interview with a potential colleague followed by another interview with the hiring manager. None of the calls were via zoom and I felt the call with the hiring manager was more of a box checking exercise. She did not seem invested in the interview process with me though was generally friendly overall. I left the call feeling they already had a candidate in mind or that I had squeaked by the recruiter's radar and the manager didn't feel my experience aligned with the role. Either way, it was evident to me I was not being seriously considered as a top candidate. The following day I received a call from the recruiter letting me know they had decided to move in a different direction.
