The interview started with a phone interview with a member of USAA's miltary recruiting. After I passed the phone interview, I was invited to a 2 day interview. USAA paid for the entire trip. It was extremely well organized and I was very impressed. The 1st day was a mixer where we could meet some managers at USAA. It was held in the hotel where we were all put up. The 2nd day was a full day of interviews and USAA tours. The job I was interviewing for was a bit different than the normal Junior Military Officer program. Their program consisted of 2 panel interviews. However, my interview was a 1:1 interview with the investment branch manager since that was the area I would be working in based on my interested and educational background. The interview consisted of mainly explaining my resume (since I have been in the military for the past 11 years) and the interviewer did not have a military background. I explained my leadership style and what I considered to be a good leader. We also had a drug test and an opportunity to ask questions of the current USAA employees that entered under the Junior Military Program. All other staffing members left so that we could ask and receive honesty. I was impressed with USAA before and am even more impressed with them after the visit. I was called to give a compensation offer 3 business days after the interview.
