      Tl;dr - Sanofi identified me as a strong candidate for a role and then ghosted me once I disclosed a disability and asked what their comfort level was regarding a reasonable accommodation. I applied for a business partner/counselor role and was quickly emailed by the recruiter for a phone screen and then for the video interview with the hiring manager. One of the first things that manager said was that she saw my resume and really (her emphasis) wanted to speak with me to see if I would be a good fit. We had an overall pleasant conversation; however, things took a turn when I revealed that I had a disability and wanted to see if there was room for an accommodation. Please note that I did not demand a fundamental change in the role (for example, taking a hybrid role and making it permanently remote), only to discuss what Sanofi would be comfortable with. The hiring manager seemed nonplussed with the request and simply said she would ask HR what they could offer as far as a reasonable accommodation and would then get back in touch with me the following week. As of today, it will have been nearly 6 weeks since that initial interview and I never heard from the recruiter or the hiring manager again. I cannot express into words how incredibly disappointing and hurtful it is to be identified as a top candidate based on my resume, be told by the hiring manager that she really wanted to speak with me about the opportunity, and then have everything turn based on a disclosed disability. Even more so as this role was to provide ETHICAL GUIDANCE to the business. Truly disappointing to see a company treat its disabled applicants this way.
