The recruiter was super nice and very quick to respond. Amazing experience with the recruiter. I had two rounds of interviews and the hiring manager started the first round with no structure. Round One went over the scheduled time by more than 30 mins. The hiring manager gave a problem statement in the end and had issues communicating the problem statement (he was not able to articulate the problem clearly), he was hung up on a few things I believe he did not understand well since he was using words that did not make sense in BI space. ( I can say this because I have worked on these things) and then was not polite while suggesting a different approach. I was given a take-home assignment and in the second round, he agreed with everything and was super happy and excited with the ideas that I shared and mentioned that their recruiter will reach out though to my surprise recruiter mentioned that they will not be moving ahead. I know the stuff since I have developed something similar which has been open-sourced as well. My perception is that the hiring manager was not open to ideas and lacked knowledge and the way he agreed with everything in the second round and the recruiter came back with negative feedback did not make sense to me. It was more like we are working on a problem. Can you please help us with some new ideas and share your insights? I would not like to work with such a manager and this is my first review for any interview so far though I have appeared for several interviews. I feel like I owe this review to fellow applicants so that they know what they are dealing with. Thank you!

The interview process was pretty smooth, the first call with was the recruiter, he asked a bunch of questions about my past employments, my experience, and salary expectations. The second call with the Hiring Manager, we went through a system design question. It was about the system they currently building . They were not interested in how I would design the ETL rather only wanted to learn about how the candidate would design the Data Lake/Warehouse to serve for a very specific usecase. The interview pretty much sounded like the manager was soliciting ideas on how to implement the system. The hiring manager will be very closely involved in designing the product they are building, which seemed like this role would get heavily micro-managed.
