I applied to several positions, interviewing for a couple of them. Those positions did not pick me, however they were impressed with how I handled myself so they referred me behind the scenes to other managers in the department, who hired me based on their recommendation. I had SEVERAL interviews before this one that I crashed and burned by trying to be something I wasn't. For the latter interview I just relaxed, did a little schmoozing, plenty of icebreakers in the beginning and it was smooth sailing from there.
