      Entretien pour Technical Account Manager

      3 juil. 2017
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      San Francisco, CA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Moat (San Francisco, CA) en mai 2017

      Entretien

Call with recruiter then call with hiring manager. Both were pretty high level and not too difficult. 3rd part before onsite is doing a "homework assignment" via email. I got feedback after a few weeks saying that other candidates completed it better than me. Fair enough, however the "hw assignment" was not good in my opinion, because it was specific to Moat tags, Moat data and only using Moat's platform.. If you want to be an innovative company but you only want to hire people who already know your entire platform, what's the point? Just promote internally. Also someone interviewing me said Moat is so unique they don't even have any competitors because no one else is doing what they are... I'm not going to debate during an interview but I can easily list 3 competitors off the top of my head doing the exact same thing in the space.

      Entretien pour Technical Account Manager

      2 sept. 2018
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      New York, NY
      Offre refusée
      Expérience négative
      Entretien moyen

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Moat (New York, NY)

      Entretien

The entire process took nearly 5 months long. A month was spent speaking with the hiring manager and 2 on-sites wherein one was a panel interview. I had a technical assessment that tests JavaScript comprehension and ad tech knowledge. The rest of the 4 months were spent waiting for the written offer. I received a verbal offer with a written confirmation via e-mail. Once I gave my verbal confirmation, the hiring manager initially told me it would take 2 weeks to get upper management to approve the written offer, but that kept getting delayed until I finally accepted a more competitive job offer months later and they still couldn’t produce the written offer. To be fair, the hiring manager and recruiter kept me in the loop every week. They even took me out to coffee and lunch on a frequently to meet the team. However, it came out that that Oracle was planning a reorganization after acquiring a company during the same time period. This apparently caused a hiring freeze across Moat. It appeared that even the hiring manager and team were kept in the dark since I was always told “the written offer is coming next week” instead of a firm timeline. They apologized that this isn’t how they normally operate, but I’ve spoken to several of their current employees that have also experienced months of waiting between verbal acceptance and receiving the written offer. This is an indication that upper management is not transparent with their employees or even middle management. It also shows me how Oracle’s red tape trickles down to Moat. Not to mention the salary wasn’t competitive enough for someone with a hybrid business and technical background. Looking back, I now cannot picture myself growing my career in an environment where it takes this long to hire someone. As a future leader in tech, I wish to be in an environment where I can grow a team without so much red tape and give my future hires the best candidate experience possible. It is very clear to me that Moat can not provide that environment.
