Was hired straight out of college. I started with an initial interview at my University. It was a 1 on 1 technical interview. The interviewer asked me to code a function that given an integer returns the roman numeral equivalent.
I got a call about 2 weeks later inviting me to come for the on campus interviews. They flew me out and set me up with a 2 nights at the Westin Bellevue and a rental car. There were quit a number of us interviewing on the same day so we all had dinner together the night before the interview. On the day of the interview we were picked up in the morning in a black SUV and taken to campus for the on site interviews.
On campus, we were taken to a conference room and some breakfast and a small meet and greet was set up. We each had 4 interviews in total and after each on we came back to the same conference room. After the second interview we were taken for lunch and headed back for more interviews. each interview took about 45 min and there was about 20 min between each interview. The first three interviews all started off asking about one thing in my resume and then had a design question I worked on for about 30 min. the design questions were:
- Design a video thumbnail picture selector:
Here I had to design different variations of it and select the best on and explain why.
- Design a document annotation app for touch devices that can be used on multiple screen sizes.
Some big problems to solve here are how to categorize store the different annotations, and re-rendering on smaller devices.
- Design an app to capture thoughts.
Here it is important to first disambiguate.
In the forth interview I had to role play and describe how I would help a client that owns a chain of coffee shops to better track their coffee supplies and automate ordering of depleting supplies. I also had to explain how I would protect against security concerns.
After that last interview I we were taken the visitor center where we met all the other candidates from all the other teams. Some people got their results before we left back to the hotel. I got mine later that same evening and an offer package was emailed to me a few days later.

Not a great experience with interviews taking 1 month to complete. Despite ongoing communication, the role did not move forward, reportedly due to approval constraints. The overall experience highlights a gap in aligning internal approvals before progressing candidates to advanced stages.
Clearer communication and better alignment internally would improve the candidate experience

The interview process is grueling and I get why people do it but its more awareness, know that you'll spend an entire day and meet several people, so it's important to be mentally and physically prepared. Eat a good breakfast but not heavy stay hydrated. This was just for a PM role it's their standard process I imagine executive level is another thing altogether

Question 1
Tell me about a time you didn't agree with someone who was a stakeholder on your project and how did you handle that?
Very smooth, thoughtful interview process. It showed the recruiter really cared what I had to contribute and asked great followup clarifying questions. Would definitely recommend everyone try an interview with them even if it doesn't pan out.
