      Entretien

      An existing HubSpot employee submitted me as a referral and within 15 minutes, I had an email for an initial interview. The first interview was a video with no one else on the other line. It was 3-4 questions and you don't know what they are ahead of time and you have 30 seconds to read the question then about a minute to record your answer and you can't re-record. My next interview was a phone interview with the recruiter for the position, pretty high-level to learn about my experience and why I was interested in this role. The next interview was a phone interview with a manager on the customer success team, with more behavioral questions. The next interview was actually 4 back-to-back 30-minute interviews over zoom (so video) with 4 different managers on the customer success team, each interviewing for a different characteristic. The final interview was a phone interview with a director on the customer success team. The whole process was about 3 weeks and the recruiter was walking me through everything, providing tips and feedback along the way. It was honestly an excellent experience and I felt very supported and valued by everyone I spoke with! For anyone interviewing, be sure to have a really solid talk track around why you want to work for HubSpot and why this role in particular is interesting to you (beyond the company culture, have a very definite reason). Ask lots of questions! HubSpot values curiosity so come prepared to each interview with a list of questions to show that you want to learn more and that you are curious by nature. Remember that they're interviewing you to see if you're a good fit but you're also interviewing HubSpot in a way to see if the company is a good fit for you so ask everything on your mind. To note, I was interviewing for a fully remote position so I didn't have any in-person interviews.

      They do not respect your time at all. I went through the interview process, got nothing but positive feedback along the way, and then after what was supposed to be the final interview, they put everything on hold and just kept me waiting. After over a month they came back and asked for another interview even though I had completed the process. 2 days after that I got the generic "thanks but no thanks" rejection. Keeping someone on the hook for over a month and not giving an actual reason is so inconsiderate. Just know that your time will not be respected and do not get your hopes up even if they give you nothing but positive feedback.

      Only went throught the initial screening call with the recruiter, and it was an awkward experience. There were zero pleasantries on their end before jumping right into it, and the first thing they said was "to be honest, we have a lot of applicants for this role and had to renove the post from our careers site..." This felt immediately dismissive of my chances at moving forward, all before even learning more about me and my experience. I understand the market is very competitive right now, and them wanting to be transparent, but this didn't set a possitive tone for the rest of the conversation, on top of them being not very friendly from the start.

      4 step process that involves a phone screen, and interview with two managers, a role-play and three interviews with three different managers back to back. Very lengthy with specific criteria that they’re after.
