I completed an online application and was then invited to take part in an automated video interview. This was like a one-sided Skype call. I was recording my answers to 5 questions using my webcam. I was given 30 seconds to read each question, followed by either 30 seconds or a minute to answer (depending on the question).
In total, I spoke for less than 5 minutes. It felt unnatural and distracting to be watching myself on screen as I answered questions. The lack of visual or audio feedback from an interviewer was unnerving. I could see how much time was remaining, the timer turned red for the last few seconds, which added stress and it was difficult to maintain my train of thought.
