      Entretien pour Enterprise Account Executive

      15 mai 2019
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      San Francisco, CA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Gong (San Francisco, CA) en avr. 2019

      Entretien

Took part in two phone interviews (one with Terry Odds and a second w/Payam Sedehi). Thought both calls went very well. Despite being told that I would receive word back regarding "next steps" neither person returned emails or calls. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I get it, no return message or call = no "next steps". However, do not promise a callback and go dark. And all this after receiving a very nice message from the CEO/Co-founder on LinkedIn (Amit Bendov) when I reached out directly to him during the process. Oh well, bad impressions travel fast.

The usual questions around sales style, recall high points in Sales, how long/large were past deals?

I would have to agree with you on two of your statements — (1) "Bad impressions travel fast," and (2) "Very unprofessional." I'm really bummed that this was your candidate journey @ Gong. No excuses — we dropped the ball. My question though: What can we do to change this experience and create a raving fan out of you? I'm happy to connect over a phone call, coffee, or lunch — to learn more about your specific journey — to ensure that this doesn't happen again if you choose to revisit a conversation with Gong or for other candidates that might seek an opportunity with us. My email is eric.lindroos@gong.io or you can connect with me on LinkedIn as well. Our apologies once more, Eric Lindroos

The first interview is with HR then you will interview with the hiring manager. After the interview with the hiring manager you would interview with the VP of sales. If that goes well you will then have to do a mock discovery call and you will be graded and if that goes well and offer.

Interview process was organized and well thought out. Meetings were coordinated around my schedule and most were brief and to the point. The only drawback was the lack of feedback during the process. Even after deciding to go a different direction (after the final interview), I didn't recieve any helpful criticism when the recruiter called. I did appreciate the personal touch of the recruiter calling me vs. just a generic email.

Horrible process from the jump. Recruiter sent wrong dates and times to interview with the hiring manager. Hiring manager couldn’t answer who their ideal customer profile was as they scale into enterprise, and they mainly focused on culture related questions. In my THIRD round, my interviewer was clearly disengaged and working while asking me questions like “what do you want to get out of this today”. The ultimate feedback was that I didn’t seem “excited” and didn’t like my “hopping around”. If you didn’t feel I was a strong candidate due to my resume don’t take three rounds to figure that out and come prepared with questions that will address your concerns. Amateur hour to say the very least.

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can continue to improve our candidate experience. It sounds like you met with our newest hiring manager who is still learning our ICP for Enterprise. We strive for a structured interview process for each role that focuses on the core competencies for the role and it sounds like that wasn’t the case here. Thank you again for your feedback.
