There's a few stages to the process.
1. Online Application Form
2. KS2 Level Maths & English Quiz
3. Recorded Video Interview Questions
4. Online 'face-to-face' Interview
You start by filling out an online application form on their website.
After this they will give you a Maths and English quiz - it isn't too hard; I believe it is KS2 level difficulty.
If successful, they will move you on to have you record video answers to a set of questions. It seems quite a few candidates do not make it passed this stage, so make sure you take those video recordings seriously.
Finally you will get an interview with a person - mine was done online. I remember thinking after the interview, "damn I didn't do too well," but then I was surprised to get an success email right afterwards!
However I didn't actually get an offer right away, as they said the centre I had applied to was full up, so I was put on a waiting list. I waited a month or two before I got an offer.
The most difficult part of the process was definitely the interview at the end - the video interview recordings just before are a little easier as they do give you a little bit of time to prepare your answer if I recall correctly. You should have no problem with the quiz, and as far as the initial application form goes, so long as you fill in everything correctly and have at least the minimum grades, I think you should get through.
Tips:
1. Dress smart for both the video recordings and interview.
2. Research the company.
3. Mention any relevant work experience - the job involves some customer service too so if even if you just have that, mention it.
All in all the process takes a few weeks but it is definitely worth it! It is a fun job, perfect for someone in sixth-form and the managers are lovely!

Pre-recorded interview stage then an interview with someone at Explore - usually a hiring manager. Simple behavioural questions about your job motivations and skills. My advice - flaunt your communication and social skills. Don’t worry too much about hard skills as long as you have decent maths and English grades from secondary, a-level or at degree level.

An online interview with mock questions is easy and requires you to pretend to teach a child who is struggling with a question. From what I remember from the person interview they wanted to know you and why you wanted to work at Explore

Friendly interviewer, laid out the format of the interview at the start. The role I had applied for had already been filled but discussed which centres were nearby and found a role I could take. Questions took roughly 15 mins, then asked about logistics (my availability, any planned time off etc). Let me know I would hear from them in the next three working days.

Question 1
Why do I want to work in education? What would be your greatest challenge coming into the role? What does safeguarding mean to you? If a student was having a difficult session and having trouble focusing, how would you feed this back to the parent whilst the child is there?
