Let me clarify, I was offered the opportunity to schedule a phone interview, but not allowed to schedule a time for the interview.
I was contacted after submitting my resume and asking to taking a personality test online the same afternoon. CapOne ran my credit run the next day and several hours later I received an invitation to schedule a phone interview. Within 5 minutes of receiving this email, all the time slots for the day were closed and I was not allowed to click on any other day. After immediately trying two different types of web browsers incase it was a browser issue, I contacted recruiting to inform them of the issue and if there was another way for me to schedule an interview (b/c why would you offer someone to interview, but not given them the opportunity to). I received this response several hours later:
" We realize that you are patiently waiting to hear from us regarding scheduling a phone interview. Your application is still being considered for this position. However, due to the high volume of interest we have received for this position, we may fill it prior to making additional interview times available.
We are working to process applications as quickly as possible in order to get back to you regarding the status of the position. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to process your application."
I would have blown this whole situation off as getting lost in the huge corporate shuffle, but I am one of those people who are Very protective of their credit, so I am not too happy to have my credit run to only be pseudo-offered a chance to interview. With the HR training I've received, you don't run credits until you've got your finalists for your position.
