I was contacted by the HR department about this position out of the blue. My resume had been floated to them by someone internal. There was a brief phone screen by HR, and they called back to set up an in-person interview for the following week. I went down to their office and met with about 5 individuals on the team. Each interview was about 30 minutes. The manager of the team, who would be my boss, circled back at the end to tie things up and said they would be in touch. They extended a soft offer to me before the end of the evening. 2 days later I had a hard offer from them. They wanted to move quickly, but I had some things to think over. Between negotiating and thinking it over, the process was about another 2 weeks of back and forth. Then I gave them my decision. They were very accommodating during the negotiation and decision-making process, but in the end I declined.
