The interview process for Apple was fairly average and not too difficult. I think it's because it's broken into three phases in which people are weeded out due to knowledge, skills, etc., that people say it's difficult to get hired.

First interview was at the same time as 70+ other people in a group interview. Leads to more 1:1 interviews. Number of interviews you go through may vary. Out of the initial group only 2 people were offered jobs. I was one of them after 2 additional interviews. Other person after additional 6 interviews and was offered 2 months later.
