This was a multi-round process during which I got to meet many team members and got to know the details of the position and company culture. AppFolio clearly cares about fully evaluating candidates and ensuring candidates can evaluate them. This was one of the most enjoyable interview experiences I have ever gone through.

Interview process took ~2 weeks. It started with the phone interview with the recruiter followed by 4 zoom interviews (~5 hours total): - Two half hour interviews with QA managers. In the first interview most of the questions were about Agile and SaaS. In the second interview I was presented with a web page and asked how I would test it. - 2.5 hours hands-on testing assignment interview where I was given access to an instance of the Appfolio platform and asked to test a workflow - 45 minute technical interview around SQL followed by a final 15 minute interview with the hiring QA director. Overall the interview process was great. The only critique I have is that there was too much emphasis on getting the definitions of Agile and SaaS which I don't think are representative of any skill. I felt like after answering a question it was rephrased again as if I didn't give the interviewers what they wanted to hear and it felt like we were looping through the same questions multiple times. Communication throughout the interview process was excellent. I didn't have to wait long to get the feedback from the recruiter after each interview. All interviewers were supportive and open to answer my questions.
