So I used to be an employee at Agoda but got laid off due to "covid". A couple of weeks later, I noticed they were hiring again which was surprising. Why lay off 1500 then if you need to hire people again? Long story short, I apply to a backend role and get contacted a few days later for a software engineer in test role. I reply back saying that I did not apply to this position, I applied to a backend role. They admit they messed up and apologize and then say that the hiring manager still thinks I am a good fit for this role (since it requires development background). I had some doubts but decided to move forward. I was then invited to 2 live coding interviews then finally invited to the onsite interviews where I met with 3 people, 1 senior QA and 2 managers. They all went well, especially the ones with the managers. However, I do not come from a testing background and mentioned this to my interviewers; they all claimed it's not a requirement. 15 days after my final interview, I get a general rejection email saying they moved with different candidates. I do not understand why it took them 15 days to answer. I had 2 job offers during that period but I decided to wait to see the result with Agoda.
This is my personal opinion, I also don't understand why I had to undergo all rounds of interview again. I was their employee just less than a year ago. I guess it just tells you about their fake culture.

Just classic leetcode interview like you would do years ago interviewrs are nice but the interview process is outdated. After the leetcode you get a generic software discussion interview but with no mantion of ai or anything like that at all.

2 round 1st is DSA one easy and one medium problem followed by hiring manager round where project discussion is going on where deep dive into the projects focus is majorly on the architecture
In interviews, generic logic questions test clear thinking, assumptions, and reasoning under pressure, not factual knowledge. Interviewers want to see how candidates approach problems and explain conclusions calmly and logically.
