      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez ADP (Melville, NY) en août 2010

      Entretien

I was first called for a brief phone interview, and asked why I wanted to get into sales w/o having any prior experience. I was then asked to take a online assessment test and personality test. After completed that, I was scheduled for my first face to face interview w/ the lead recruiter. I must say this was one of the most uncomfortable interviews I had ever been on. I was asked a few unethical questions ie(marriage, children, long term relationship, what position my father held). After completed the initial interview I was immediately invited back to meet with the sales manager the next week. I am now preparing for that interview. When I was waiting in the waiting area, I did have the chance to see the interaction between some of the co-workers and they all seemed very young, positive, energetic and seemed to have a good working relationship. UPDATE: After coming back for my next interview, I met with 4 different people in one day, two 1 on 1 interviews, one 2 on 1 interview and had a very positive experience with all...Everyone I interview with was very professional and very nice. ..Immediately following my interviews on my drive home I was called to set up a ride along for the next day. I had asked for a few days notice out of respect for my current employer, but I was asked to make it happen. I made it the next day on the ride along and had a great experience, but the rep that I rode out with was only 8 months into the position..I was hoping to meet with someone who had a little more experience and longevity with the company. Immediately following the ride out I was brought in and offered the position...This is where every good thing I experienced turned sour....I was asked to make an immediate decision on the offer. They wanted a yes or no on the spot and felt very pressured to give them an answer. After telling them I felt this was a great opportunity and see no reason why I would not take the position, I needed a day or two to think things over, and that I also had another interview the next day and wanted to honor that appointment...I was very honest and upfront with them from the get go. I was told that normally they would walk away from a candidate who hesitated to accept the position, but would respected my honesty, but would need a definite answer the next day. I felt it was very unprofessional and a major turn off that they expected an immediate answer and felt like I was looked at more as just a number than a valued candidate...I was told that there are 30 other candidates who want the job and if i don't want it, i can give it to someone else..I really felt disrespected and that they had no consideration for my decision I needed to make. I must say that I am quite disappointed in how the offer was made and is my main reason why I will not accept the position. In all honesty, I truly believe ADP is a great opportunity, but maybe for someone right out of college whose biggest decision is what bar they are going to after work but, I feel no offer should ever demand an on the spot decision...Other positives about ADP is there truly is a great opportunity to be successful if you work hard, they have great incentive programs, good benefits and reimbursement plans. To me along with the way the offer was made, I feel that there is a very big turn over rate and that's why they are so aggressive with hiring people and want to bring them along fast to get a rep in that territory that is empty. I also felt that I would of been looked at as just a number, rather than a valued employee and would have no problem letting you go if you were not to produce right away and just hire another one of the "30" candidates....Overall, I still believe ADP is a great company to work for, with great room for growth, but it just was not the right fit for me.
