    Avantages

    Working with people who share the same passion, discount on bikes and other products

    Inconvénients

    understaffed and unorganised, often made to work extra hours without notice or being asked. Pay in contrast to other companies within Surrey is appalling considering the amount of work and hours put in. Often not paid on time, and told to wait until next pay date unless you argue with them. Company does not show enough appreciation for their staff.

    Avantages

    A great team of people, most of whom are keen cyclists. Great opportunity through the Ride-to-Work scheme to get bikes and equipment at really good prices. The recent introduction of weekly yoga classes at Head Office is most welcome. The Health Shield cash plan benefit is a great luxury.

    Inconvénients

    Career progression can be a little slow.

    Avantages

    Don't need to be a genius to work here or even averagely clever, the customer comes always first and is always right.

    Inconvénients

    You don't matter, pay is as any other retailer, the company pretend to be a leading one but other do the same job better.

    Stop pretending to give an top of the class service with a bottom of the class wages. Expertise cost money, can't be shared for free

    Avantages

    Employees are all huge bike and cycling fans. Get to work with people from all walks of life across many disciplines. Staff discount scheme is huge (as good as a pay rise for any cyclist!). Great team atmosphere with a key focus on customer experience. Lots of focus on training and progressing employees through the ranks. Reasonable pay package for management.

    Inconvénients

    can be a little bureaucratic. Targets can be quite challenging and the amount of work for management can be tricky to complete inside a 40 hour week. Sales staff need more recognition for the level of skill and knowledge they bring to a min wage job.

    reward the sales team more. They are the grass roots, building the reputation of the company. Give them a top notch working environment, somewhere to enjoy a bit of down time. get them more involved with the workings higher up in the company.

    Avantages

    Get to work with not only a great shop team but also cross business relationships and great contact with suppliers and dealers

    Inconvénients

    The change the company is going through to make it better for the future as this happening so quickly may not always have all the boats in a line before making the change. The change needs to be taken on by all people from CSO, distribution to shops and let past way of working that need to change to make ourselves better go and embrace a new way.

    Don’t focus on the score board too much, focus on the game and players.

    Avantages

    Excellent Employee Benefits, brilliant staff to work with, the senior management have a very proactive and hands on approach and care for their staff.
    There are new challenges weekly, and the Bonus scheme reflects store performance and encourages teamwork well.
    People who are proactive can progress quickly within the company and get recognition for achieving goals. Senior management know staff well and recognize when members of staff go above and beyond and always pass on a message to show the recognition directly to the employee in one form or another.

    Inconvénients

    Wage could be better for the management roles as the pay increase does not seem to mirror the extra workload acquired. Completing some Tasks internally can be more longwinded than it needs to be. Bonus Scheme at management level is poorly designed, but is currently being improved.

    Focus more energy towards Employees that wish to and show a willingness to progress. Do not focus so much energy on employees who do seem willing to follow the direction of the company as focusing too much energy trying to change the behaviors of one individual can use more resources and energy that training staff who follow and understand the direction of the company.

    Avantages

    Working with like-minded people, ability to turn a passion into a career, lots of oppotunities to get involved, big collegaue discount, get to learn lots about retail and the cycling industry

    Inconvénients

    Its retail so pay will never super high. Communication between stores and head office is a bit hit and miss but getting better

    Discount is good, that’s about it.
    Holiday pay is okay
    HR websites used for employees to book holiday and see their documents is alright and usually effective

    Inconvénients

    Head office do not listen to shop staff and do not take into account the effort and hard work of the shop staff and the unpleasant people that have to be served/faced on a daily basis.
    The company is demotivating and unobservant.
    Majority of retail employees are not bike people, the company tries to employ the masses rather than people who know how to do the job.
    Selection and training process for management is highly ineffective and does not usually benefit stores.
    Low paid for the work and the daily challenges.
    Voices of the shop staff are not heard.
    Shop staff are constantly ignored and pushed to the side for the benefit of rude and very unpleasant customers.
    HR department are unprofessional.
    Communication within the company is very poor and doesn’t seem to have improved.
    Many head office employee do not follow company handbook and the company as a whole does not train its employees based on the handbook or the employees job descriptions.
    Shop staff are constantly undermined in front of customers by head office just to please rude and a shove customers, this then constantly demotivates and disrespects the staff who are then told to work harder even though they are not respected or appreciated

    Shop staff are continuously disregarded, slated and unappreciated, and very forgotten.

    Conseils à la direction

    Listen to shop staff and actually take on board their views. Ignoring staff and “asserting you dominance” is rude and will just push your employees away as it is disrespectful and very rude.
