Good culture but extremely slow career growth; young people should avoid at all costs! - Avis employé Sales and Service Representative RBC

Avantages

Friendly positive and fun culture. Lots to get involved in outside of your job. The people are great. The well known name and reputation of RBC adds value to your resume. Perks of a free bank account.

Inconvénients

Can't move up in a reasonable amount of time: youre pretty much stuck in your job for at least 3-5 years (even in entry level roles) after which you're offered the most minor promotion (2k increase). Almost impossible to move to a different entity of RBC even after years of experience. Pay sucks, below industry average. You're better off getting a years worth of experience and leaving elsewhere especially for young people who are well educated and looking to GROW their careers, not stay stagnant for years as tellers/call center reps. Don't join the company thinking "its a foot in the door" because you aren't even allowed by hr to apply for other jobs internally for at least 2 years, preferably 3. So unless you join the company in a role you would be happy to stay in for a while, you're going to be miserable day in and day out counting down the days til two years is up, after which, any type of movement isn't even guaranteed.

Avantages

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Inconvénients

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
