Avantages

Some of the people are great to work with and are very knowledgeable. Some of the management is great and allow flexibility. They truly want their employees to have work/life balance however the deadlines don't usually allow for much of this.

Inconvénients

There is no such thing as work/life balance, especially if you are in an overhead salary position. Management and Leadership teams provide little to no leadership. The few good managers that are around or come around wind up getting run off by leadership. Unless you are a "YES" person, you will not make it. Leadership does not want to hear the real issues, challenges or obstacles. Meeting the deadline given is all that matters. Deadlines expected to be met are unrealistic and set lower levels up for failure. There are too many status chasers vs actual project managers and leaders in management roles which leads to poor directives, tons of rework, and confused staff. Tons of leadership comes and goes but the same trends seem to happen which tells me the problem lies with the CEO.

Avantages

Strong learning environment for entry-level engineers Great exposure to large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects with experienced mentors and structured onboarding. Reputable global firm Jacobs’ strong brand name adds credibility to your résumé and opens doors for future opportunities in both public and private sectors. Good career growth and mobility Clear pathways to move into roles like Project Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, or Construction Management with internal postings encouraged. Supportive team culture (project-dependent) Most teams are collaborative, and senior staff are willing to guide junior engineers, especially in inspection and CM roles. Competitive benefits and job stability Solid health benefits, 401(k), PTO, and steadier work compared to smaller consulting firms—especially on long-term public agency contracts.

Inconvénients

Growth pace depends on manager and project Advancement and role expansion can vary widely based on leadership and available opportunities.
