Codefest 2024 brought together 179 athenistas across 15 teams from 7 global locations to tackle one of healthcare’s most pressing challenges: Social Determinants of Health. The innovative solutions developed during this initiative will help athenahealth customers better understand and address social determinants of health, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and more equitable healthcare delivery. In September, an incredible 925 athenistas dedicated 2,635 hours to volunteering during our annual September is for Service event, proudly supported by athenaGives. That’s like contributing 66 full work weeks! Together, we made a significant impact by serving over 1,300 meals at our AHI campuses, assembling 2,625 clean birthing kits, reviewing more than 100 resumes for STEM students, sponsoring 30,000 meals for the Atlanta community, and hosting the largest volunteering event in September for Service history at Cradles to Crayons, among many other initiatives. A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who took part in this effort to enhance health equity, combat food insecurity, and support STEM education in our communities!

Earlier this month we wrapped up our 3rd annual Codefest, a week-long event that brings together athenistas to channel our efforts into a single theme and solve a problem that we can quickly bring to market. This year’s focus was on social determinants of health, acknowledging their immense impact on patient health outcomes and aligning to our commitment to improving healthcare experiences.
