At WG, we are proud to have a diverse team that feels welcomed and accepted no matter what. 🏳️🌈 We believe in celebrating and acknowledging the LGBTQ+ community every single day, but we also recognise the importance of supporting Pride Month as a reminder that there is still work to be done. Every individual deserves to feel welcomed, accepted, and celebrated for who they are. Hollie from our Lavender Lodge School tells us why Pride month is so important adding: 'In the words of Ru Paul Charles, "if you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?!" Happy pride month to everyone celebrating and thanks for the continued support of all the LGBTQ+ colleagues in the group ❤️' Join us in spreading love and acceptance for all this Pride Month and beyond. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive world for everyone.

✨ The Power of a Great Teacher ✨ This week we spoke to Rona who is an Art teacher at Chilworth House Upper School. Growing up as a bilingual, dyslexic student Rona found school challenging, however discovering art opened up a knew way of studying. This helped her succeed and inspired her to pursue a career teaching art to children and young people with special educational needs. Teaching can come in many forms and this blog post is great for learning how teaching art can have such a great impact on our young people. Recently, pupils from our Bridgeway School entered the fascinating world of politics with a visit to the Houses of Parliament. From witnessing a live debate to taking part in tours and even putting forward their laws, we are confident the next PM is in our midst.
This week we spoke to Delorise who is a teacher at our Chilworth House Upper School. Growing up as a person of colour with undiagnosed dyslexia inspired Delorise to pursue her career in teaching. After having a negative school experience she wanted to ensure no other children and young people had to go through the same and instead enjoyed an inclusive and positive time at school. This account is sure to inspire you!
