Did you know all Vaultex employees are entitled to seven-hours of paid volunteering per year? We’ve long found that volunteering does as much for our people as it does for the communities we support. It introduces new perspectives, skills, relationships, and occasionally, ignites a new passion entirely. These experiences create a lasting impact, enhancing individual wellbeing and strengthening our culture long after the day itself. In 2025 alone, the Vaultex community has already clocked over 1,000 volunteering hours for the causes that matter most to them - the latest being a litter-pick led by our environmental advocates in Bristol! Last week, our volunteers had the wonderful opportunity to meet the children they’ve been reading with throughout the year, as part of a heart-warming end-of-year celebration with Chapter One UK. It was a special moment to put names to faces and reflect on the progress they’ve made together since the start of the year - from growing in confidence and beaming smiles to a newfound love of reading. We’re really proud to be part of this initiative and excited to help even more children discover the joy of reading in the new school year ahead. We take pride in a culture built on trust, respect, and integrity. It represents a partnership between us and our people – one that asks much from both sides, but allows us to give back even more in return. King’s Cross Shift Manager, Princess Orji, shares her experience of the culture at Vaultex, highlighting the support network around her, the opportunities available, and the value of a people-first approach. We have introduced sanitary bins in one cubicle of every male toilet across our sites. It’s not a legal requirement, but it reflects growing awareness – in industry and even in Parliament – of the need for proper facilities in male toilets. Health issues like incontinence or stoma care can affect anyone, and without proper facilities, people are often left without a discreet or hygienic option. We’re proud to support the growing call for better access – and to act now, rather than waiting for regulations to catch up. This move also helps prevent blockages and improper waste disposal, which can cause negative environmental impact. It’s a small, almost unnoticeable change - but it matters. Because dignity and comfort should be built into every part of the workplace – even the areas no one talks about.
We’ve joined Learn Live’s ‘Career Friendly’ programme – a step forward in how we connect with schools and support students. Our partnership with Learn Live UK began during the pandemic, when we moved our employability sessions online. That shift helped us keep going – and reach more people along the way. Since 2021, more than 100,000 people have tuned in to our broadcasts, covering everything from careers in finance and tech to practical advice on applying for jobs and exploring different career options. Now, being ‘Career Friendly means we’re easier to find, easier to work with, and better placed to create stronger links with schools - so we can tailor support even more closely to what their students are looking for. We’re proud to grow this partnership and keep building on what works.
Easter is always a significant period in the cash cycle – and 2025 was no exception. Across the four working days leading up to the long weekend, Vaultex distributed nearly £0.9bn to our retail, bank, and ATM customers – over £36m (4%) more than the same period leading up to Easter 2024. That year-on-year uplift is a clear reminder that cash demand remains resilient, even as consumer habits evolve, and reflects the proud role we play in maintaining the UK’s cash infrastructure during key moments in the national calendar. Thank you to all our people and partners for delivering once again, ensuring the public had continued access to the cash they need this Easter.
We take pride in a culture built on trust, respect, and integrity. This week marked a special milestone in our partnership with Chapter One UK – a virtual meet-and-greet between Vaultex volunteers and the children they’ve been reading to all year. For the first time, the children were able to put faces to the familiar voices they’ve come to know and trust. Since the beginning of 2025, a dedicated team of our colleagues has been giving up half an hour each week to read with primary school children in disadvantaged areas - helping to build early literacy skills and, more importantly, confidence. It’s a simple commitment with a lasting impact. Around 40% of children in these communities struggle with reading by age 11. We want to help change that. One weekly phone call. One story shared. One meaningful connection. We’re incredibly proud of what our volunteers have already achieved. While we know our efforts aren’t a fix-all, it is a start - and we are only just getting started. Because every child deserves the chance to turn the page with confidence. Did you know? Since 2019, our Social Mobility efforts have reached over 2,000 people globally - driven by a belief that everyone deserves a fair shot at success, regardless of their background or postcode. We are delighted to share the release of Vaultex’s 2024/25 ESG Report – a reflection of our commitment to sustainability, ethical leadership, and innovation. Our progress is driven by a culture that champions sustainability, diversity, and wellbeing. By empowering our people and embedding ESG principles into our everyday operations, we have delivered real, measurable results – cutting emissions by 44% since 2017, creating an inclusive environment where all our people can be their authentic selves, and spearheading transformative initiatives such as our Green Path campaign and Virtual Cash Centre concept. Ultimately, we don't view sustainability as an obligation, but an opportunity to create lasting impact for our people, our communities, our planet, and the wider industry.
Last week, we achieved a milestone with the implementation of our companywide ISA cash processing system – the most ambitious system transformation in our history. This multi-year journey, from its initial concept to final rollout, was shaped by our people at every step. Their expertise influenced every feature, and their feedback drove every improvement, laying the foundation for the system to evolve alongside the changing demands of our industry. Our ISA champions didn’t just learn the system; they owned it. They became its strongest advocates, training peers and ensuring seamless knowledge sharing – often travelling to other sites to support further implementations. Their skills and dedication were instrumental in refining the system and delivering enhancements that elevated the end-user experience for both our people and our customers. Time and again, members of our community have stepped forward with expertise, energy, and a can-do spirit, turning challenges into opportunities. Their willingness to lead and adapt has been central to the success of this implementation. That’s why we are, and will continue to be, so passionate about giving our people a voice at every opportunity to shape our organisation and drive continuous improvement. To our incredible teams: thank you for your hard work, resilience, and commitment to excellence. We’re excited to leverage this new technology, modernising Vaultex’s IT systems – enabling us to better support our customers.
