Through this program, our employees had the opportunity to nominate a teacher who made a lasting impact on them, some of those nominations led to meaningful reunions and a $1,000 gift. In February, we donated $500 to Victory Temple (chosen by the Lynn Haven, FL, team), Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington (chosen by the Richland, WA, store), El Buen Samaritano Food Program (chosen by the Worcester, MA, store), and Vets Helping Vets Anderson (chosen by the Pendleton, SC, store team).
Our Deal or No Deal–style briefcase event was an unforgettable experience for a select group of field employees. We gave away over $140,000, and one lucky person took home $25,000, plus they will get to donate $2,500 to a nonprofit they're passionate about. The energy, the anticipation, and the reactions in the room made it clear how powerful intentional recognition can be.
