We are pleased to share that Ravi Ahuja will become President and CEO, succeeding Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO, Tony Vinciquerra who will step down January 2, 2025. Vinciquerra will remain in an advisory role for SPE as non-executive Chairman until the end of December 2025. Vinciquerra joined SPE in 2017 and has led the company’s dramatic turnaround with five consecutive years of increasing profit. Sony Group Corporation Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said of the news that “The extraordinary turnaround at SPE over the last 10 years would not have been possible without Tony’s deep experience and expertise in the entertainment space, his strategic vision and his outstanding leadership.” He added that “Ravi has been at the center of Tony’s leadership team, navigating the unprecedented challenges of today’s media and entertainment environment and positioning SPE for further growth.”

Adrian Smith (President, Sony Pictures Releasing, Domestic) took the stage to introduce Mitchel Berger (SVP, Global Commerce, Crunchyroll), who gave the first-ever Crunchyroll presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. During the presentation, Mitchel highlighted the acquisition and select theatrical dates for three new films: HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle, BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-, and OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom. During the presentation, Mitchel also showed the first 10 minutes of footage from SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, the first film installment of the popular television series that Crunchyroll and Sony are releasing in North American cinemas on April 19. #SonyPics is thrilled to have partnered with the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge for their launch of the first-ever disability loop group, hosted on our Culver City studio lot. A loop group records audio for programming during post-production, providing background noise and audio clips to be utilized in films, TV shows, video games, and commercials.
#SonyPics’ Robert Lawson has been promoted to Head of Corporate Communications for our Tokyo-based parent company Sony Group Corporation. We look forward to continuing to grow under his leadership as he takes on this new role.
