🌟 Team Spotlight: Stone House 🌟 When an unexpected heating system malfunction impacted the Stone House community from February 2–8, the team responded with urgency, coordination, and care. Temporary heaters were distributed, consistent updates were shared with residents and partners, and team members worked extended hours — including the weekend — to ensure everyone remained safe and comfortable. Thanks to their dedication and leadership, the system was fully restored by Sunday morning. 🌟 Team Member Spotlight: Fernando Acosta Martinez 🌟 On the afternoon of February 2, 2026, while finishing a routine unit check near the end of his shift, Fernando Acosta Martinez responded to a fire alarm and discovered smoke and a resident calling for help. Without hesitation, he grabbed a fire extinguisher and entered the neighboring apartment, where a cooktop fire was rapidly spreading toward the ceiling. Remaining calm and acting quickly, Fernando extinguished the flames within seconds. The fire department later confirmed that a delay of just two minutes could have triggered the sprinkler system, causing extensive water damage and potential resident displacement. Thanks to Fernando’s swift and courageous response, serious damage was prevented and residents were able to safely remain in their homes. One neighbor shared, “It’s one thing to have training, but it’s different when you see a fire in front of you… He was so brave.” Since joining Peabody in August 2025, Fernando has become known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility — even assisting other locations outside of regular hours. 👏 Thank you, Fernando, for truly going above and beyond and exemplifying the Peabody Way!
