“When I applied for the role with MHA, the warmth and feeling I got from visiting MHA Bradbury Grange, one of the homes in Whitstable helped me to decide this is the organisation I want to work for."
“My role is very fulfilling, it's a role that I feel comes naturally to me, and it's not just a job, being a chaplain in MHA is not just about religion, having that support system for staff, residents and their loved ones is first and foremost."
In our final series of a very successful campaign, we spoke with Grace, a senior care assistant at MHA Mapplewell Manor who has been working at the home for seven years after swapping event planning for working in social care, a decision she is very proud of. Look out for another series of our wonderful colleagues aged 30 or below in the summer.
“When I did leave I wasn't completely happy as I never wanted to leave, but in my heart I always knew I wanted to come back, thankfully the position became open and applying for it was a no-brainer, and it's been almost two years since I have been back."
“My commute is around two hours, but I don't mind it as working at the home is worth the distance, I believe my passion for the role outweighs the distance and I genuinely love working at MHA Handsworth."
The home had more than 35 categories from which residents were awarded an OSCAR and to the delight of the residents and their loved ones every resident received an award.
“MHA Mapplewell Manor is the first home I have worked in and whatever you ask for you get, I am really happy here and would like to be part of the management team one day."
We spoke with Georgina as part of MHA’s new initiative aiming to shine a spotlight on their senior care assistants and what led them to develop into these roles.
“I gave myself a month and told myself if I didn't find my feet, I would leave and try something else, but here I am 20 years later, I am so happy I decided to continue and I genuinely love working at MHA Alexandra House."
We’re proud to share that MHA has once again been recognised as one of the Top 20 Large Care Home Groups in the UK by carehome.co.uk, marking our ninth year in a row receiving this honour. To be acknowledged consistently over nearly a decade speaks volumes about the standard of care, kindness and commitment shown across our homes every single day. This recognition is based on feedback from residents and their families, making it especially meaningful to everyone involved. We’re also especially proud that: ⭐ MHA The Homestead has been named a Top 20 Care Home in the South East ⭐ MHA Pennystone Court has been named a Top 20 Care Home in the North West Congratulations to our dedicated colleagues whose hard work creates supportive, welcoming places where older people can thrive.
