Last week we spent three days celebrating 6 Direct Support Professionals that were recognized nationally for being the best of the best. To be a DSP is not easy – it requires patience, tenacity, courage, and a kind heart. Through interactions with the winners, we are proud to say that they truly represent the best of what Dungarvin strives to accomplish through the services we provide. On Tuesday, we heard from our CEO and ANCOR’s President, Lori Kress, and we danced the night away together. Wednesday gave us the opportunity to take our DSPs on a tour through Boston and experience a harbor boat tour. Later that evening, we presented them with a token of our gratitude and had a lovely dinner with speeches recognizing them and our ANCOR Ambassador graduates. Thursday we watched as each of our national winners were recognized in front of their peers as the DSP of the Year for their states. They reminded us that compassion doesn't clock out. Every year, this experience reminds us to be grateful to each and every Dungarvin DSP throughout the country for the work they do and the hours they put in when no one is watching. YOU are Dungarvin.

Meet Larita, an individual Dungarvin supports! 👋 She LOVES to make scarves and hats for her family and even gives them to the homeless during the winter, so they can keep warm. Over time, she’s produced many gifts and even made a scarf and hat for her DSP, Felicia, as a Christmas present! She is so talented and we love to see her sharing her passion with others. During #DevelopmentalDisabilityAwarenessMonth, we highlight the individuals we support, featuring examples of what they CAN do!
Nearly 85 percent of the Direct Care Industry is made up of women professionals, according to PHI’s (Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute) National Direct Care Workforce Resource Center. Similarly, more than 65 percent of Dungarvin is comprised of women at all levels of our company! We salute all the women who tirelessly support and advocate the many individuals Dungarvin supports. We couldn’t do this mission-based work without you! May you feel celebrated, seen and valued today and every day. 🫶
Celebrating a Milestone of 50 Years of Serving Individuals and Families! 👉 “We are all, together, part of a diversity industry, calling on others to support and accept each other despite our differences.” “#BlackHistoryMonth is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce why acceptance of diversity is more important than ever. Our organization is filled with caring professionals who are so good at their jobs precisely because of the life experiences they bring with them,” explained Brent Aberg, Northwest Regional Director. “In celebration of our robust diversity in the Northwest region, I want to express my appreciation for the capable professionals at Dungarvin as we celebrate them and all that they bring to the direct support industry.” Featured in photo is Brent with 2025 ANCOR DSP of the Year for the state of Oregon, Maria Francisco, celebrating her accomplishment and recognizing the importance of diversity.
