We are thrilled to have secured a significant contract with the University of Glasgow to provide comprehensive fire and security services across the entire estate for the next three years with a potential two-year extension. This project includes planned servicing and reactive maintenance, ensuring the safety and security for the university buildings and all who use them. It strengthens our existing team in Scotland and adds to our ever growing portfolio in the education sector.
On our journey to net zero we are committed to operating transparently, sustainably and responsibly to support our society and the environment. Our new Corporate Social Responsibility Report delivers on our commitments. Our CSR strategy has been developed around four pillars – Carbon and Climate Neutrality; Environmental Positive Impact; People and Society and Responsible Local Development – reflecting on our renewed vision and values as Dalkia UK whilst aligning with the commitments of our parent companies, Dalkia and EDF. This framework supports us in shaping our ambitions and commitments and to deliver outstanding services to our clients, whilst always being mindful of our impact and responsibilities. We also strive to find innovative solutions for a sustainable future and we have printed minimal copies of our CSR Report, using 100% renewable energy, on 100% recyclable materials, with zero waste being directed to landfill and no negative carbon impact. Planet Positive Printing!
Our Facilities Apprentice Ambassador Team delivered an Electrical Training Day for our apprentices after receiving feedback that they wanted more practical experience. The location was set and the generosity from CEF City Electrical Factors meant we could run practical training sessions, including scenario exercises, which enabled the apprentices to design and install electrical systems, and a section focusing on electrical safety. "Overall, it was very helpful with my understanding of electrical installation, and I think that day will help put me ahead in my course." Josh, Electrical Apprentice. "The day allowed me to gain some experience that I otherwise would not have.’" Ellie, Apprentice. "The training day was a great success and enjoyed by all. We can’t wait to deliver more sessions!" Lee, Apprentice Ambassador.
This Mental Health Awareness Week we supported our partner charity, Mind, to raise awareness and vital funds for a future where everyone can get quality mental health care when they need it. Together we can make sure that no mind is left behind.
Last week we celebrated Mental Health Awareness and Learning at Work Week. In our Move More for Mental Health webinar, we heard from colleagues who’ve improved their wellbeing through taking on physical challenges. We’ve also shared information and links to sessions and podcasts available on our in-house learning platform, MyCareer. Plus we’ve raised much needed funds for partner charities, Mind and SAMH, through launching team steps and sunflower growing challenges and in Scotland colleagues took time at lunch to move more by walking and talking together.
