Charter Next Generation, in partnership with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, was named a recipient of the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) Recycling Leadership Awards for post-consumer recycled (PCR) utilization in the Earthgro mulch bag. APR works to recognize organizations advancing plastics #recyclability and circular solutions, and we are proud to continue to meet these qualifications. Together, we developed and commercialized a high-strength mulch bag that incorporates APR-certified PCR polyethylene (PCR-PE), representing a significant step forward in #sustainable packaging design. The film achieves a 25% increase in toughness properties while maintaining optics and sealability, supporting superior durability. Recognition of this work highlights measurable progress in incorporating post-consumer recycled content into high-performance film applications.
